Purple Diamonds

Resembling the gemstone amethyst and the lilac flower, purple is a nonspectral color, denoting a range of colors between red and violet. Purple with tints of brown, pink or red are spoken of as being warm colors, whereas purple with tints of gray or black are spoken of as cold colors. The range of color tone for purple diamonds is variable, mostly in lightness, resulting in a pale purple, bright orchid purple, and deep amethyst purple.

Purple diamond

Purple is one of the rarest and most desirable colours. A purple diamond recently assessed by the British Gemmological Institute has been estimated to be worth over £14 million, and to be the most valuable natural object in existence on a weight for weight basis. This stone weighs between four and five carats. There is a larger purple diamond on display at a Paris museum, but its colour is paler.

Deep purple diamond

The is a beautiful bright stone, perhaps a little darker than the upper one, but still very beautiful and unusual. There are many other fancy colored diamonds which are far more attractive. Here is the information about other fancy colored diamonds.
